SWITZERLAND – Nissan Outdoor Games, a great success for this film festival where “outdoor” sports topped the billing. Everyone was welcome to come and admire the skill of these specialists in the disciplines of kayak, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding and BASE-jumping, and even to get a taste for these sports with various initiations taking place. Unique in its genre, the most important outdoor event in Europe combined the latest outdoor sports, with the creative dimension of film and photography. An open-air screening of the films from the invited teams, marked the closing, last night, of the 4th edition of the Nissan Outdoor Games 2008. UK – the skateorama show was rained off on Saturday, and has now been postponed to Saturday 2nd August… watch this space FRANCE – coming up next weekend is Urban Plagne, the urban culture festival “with altitude”… it’s at 2000m! Skateboarding, BMX, MTB, parkour and skating will all be there, plus other disciplines, and loads of music, and more, all at La Plagne – probably the highest urban culture festival around. It’s the 4th edition of the festival and is a qualifying event for FISE 2009, next May in Montpellier. Posting the only perfect ten point rides seen in either the Men’s or Women’s events, Lima advanced into the Finals where she proved unstoppable against 17-year-old schoolgirl Pauline Ado.
