UK SKATEBOARDING 1 – the Skate-o-Rama music and skateboard event takes place this Saturday, 5th July, at Wellholme Park, Brighouse. Comps to enter, prizes to win, and demos of other urban sports to watch and try…… see the photo gallery ; more info here .UK SKATEBOARDING 2 – run by Rubicon Skateboards the UK’s first and only week long residential skate camps are a chance for younger skaters to visit the cream of British skateparks, learn new skills and tricks, make new friends and basically submerge themselves in the UK skate scene. The 2008 camps are based near Coventry – some places left for the week 18-22 August. Check the Rubicon Skate Camps site.Who are Rubicon? Well, they recently sponsored (and demo’d at) the Winchester Skate Jam – awesome event, great atmosphere; they also sponsored the first ever Girls Skate Comp at NASS08 (National Adventure Sports Show 2008) – Europe’s largest action sports and music festival.  Further, a team including a number of Rubicon riders, scooped 5 prizes at the recent "Something for the Weekend" competition run by Reskue Skateshop. BBFF is a celebration of exciting and inventive films in the Action, Adventure, Suspense and Asian Action Cinema genres. BBFF also welcomes documentary submissions featuring extreme sports and athletic events, activities and competitions which have contributed some of the most entertaining video of death defying speed, skill and daring.
